ABOUT ME
Passionate About Helping Others
What has fueled me to progress in this field is my passion for it. My view on human nature has a great influence on my personal philosophy of counseling. Being first generation in this country, I believe that every human being should be respected for who they are and I think that it is important to believe that anyone is capable of attaining anything that they put their mind to. If people constantly remind themselves that there is meaning behind every aspect of their life, they have a greater sense of being. It is also important to remind ourselves that we have choices and options; we do not need to be bound by the ideas or values that society has set up. I believe that at some point, we all face a dark moment and rather than thinking that we are buried, therapy can help us see that we have just been planted and are preparing to bloom.
I believe that culture is a dominant ingredient in shaping our values and morals; therefore, I ensure that the culture of each client is explored and incorporated throughout the therapeutic journey to assist the client with gaining a deeper understanding of who they are.
Goal
My goal is to provide a safe environment that will enable people to grow emotionally and gain perspective about the infinite amount of choices that we have as individuals. We can pick from those choices to reach a fulfilling sense of happiness and be able to look forward to the future with hope.

Therapeutic Approaches
I incorporate the use of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy. I work from a strength based approach and use affirmations, positive reflections and various perspectives to help the client feel empowered and capable. I also enjoy to incorporate the use of humor and positive energy to help establish a strong therapeutic relationship with the client as I believe this factor is paramount in helping the client reach his/her goals.
Experience
I have been working in the mental health field for eight years. I have experience in crisis intervention, working with anxiety, depression and trauma in both adolescents as well as adults and in working with the incarcerated population.
